The Story So Far
My Great-Aunt Katherine gave me a journal when I was eight years old. She told me to write my stories, and I have been doing so ever since. Long before I called myself an author or playwright, I was writing because words gave me a place to imagine, question, laugh, wrestle, and make sense of life.
Over the years, those words found different homes, in books, plays, classrooms, pulpits, and conversations. The form changes, but the heart of the work does not. I’m interested in people: who we are, what we carry, what we hide, what we believe, and how we find our way forward.
I write stories that have something to say without pretending to have all the answers. Sometimes they make you laugh. Sometimes they make you uncomfortable, but I hope they always leave room for possibility.

Faith & Voice
Faith isn’t a separate part of my life or my work. It shapes how I see people, the questions I ask, and the stories I choose to tell. I believe there is something sacred in telling the truth about who we are – even when that truth is complicated.
Whether I’m writing, teaching, preaching, or speaking, I want to leave room for both conviction and grace. I’m not interested in easy answers. I’m interested in the conversations that make us think, see one another more clearly, and perhaps leave the room a little different than we entered it.
